Drymen is a small village, so the number of beds in it is small too — a handful of inns, guest houses and B&Bs around the square, and a few self-catering places on the lanes leading out.

Most people staying here are walking. Drymen is the first overnight stop on the West Highland Way for walkers coming up from Milngavie, which means village rooms book early in summer and on weekends from April onwards. Staying in the village puts a walker on the route; staying anywhere else means a taxi back to it in the morning.

The rest of what is listed here sits around the loch — Balmaha and Rowardennan on the eastern shore, Balloch at the southern end, Aberfoyle over towards the Trossachs. Those take in the lodges, cabins and glamping pods, several with hot tubs, that the village itself does not have.

Places in Drymen are listed first. Everything else shows the town it is in and how far that is from the village, so the drive is clear before booking.

Distances shown are straight-line from the centre of Drymen, so allow more by road — the loch shore roads are slow and single-track in places.
