Authentic Stories from Diners
Took my brother and sister in law to the blackbull on 11th July for a meal and my brother who is well travelled for work said this is one of the best meals he has had, it is up there with the best of the best restaurants. We come often because of the great food and service and the community of gartmore and owners should be proud of what they have achieved, the place is looking amazing and would definately recommend the black bull. Thankyou to the chefs who work hard behind the scenes and the girls serving Excellent once again Fay
Popped in for the food and was absolutely blown away by the quality. The steak and ale pie was absolutely delicious with high quality beef from a local butchers. Sat in the bar area as we had the dog with us, the ambience was lovely and the staff were really friendly and attentive. The whole meal was great value for money. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Absolutely DYNAMITE. Scran here was superb! Locally sourced product, and served with a bit of heart. The food was absolutely excellent. Seafood bisque packed with hearty flavours topped with cheesy garlic croutons, class. Lamb stew with a thick gravy, class. Sirloin steak was unbelievable juicy, class. Steak pie with a fresh crust, class. Chefs chicken and Cullen skink sucker punching your taste buds, class. Topping all that off with hand pulled man ahoy, goodness me this place is great for a hearty Scottish meal. Absolutely top marks from me on serving locally sourced produce in such a lovely setting. The whole place is decorated with the history of the local area which is such a nice touch. Felt like a proper local family run establishment and cannot express enough how friendly and helpful the staff were during service. Now I just need to stay a couple nights there!! Thanks for an excellent meal at a good price! Cheers :)
